Join us this year!!

Hey all you sports fans. Join us this year to add some quality pictures to our site. Do you tailgate? Bring a camera and snap some pics. Even if you are just heading to the game, snap some shots and send them our way. We want to build our site with pictures from our readers.

And if you are looking for an avenue to express your opinion on the games, teams, sports in general, sign up to be a blogger and let everyone read and comment on your thoughts.

We are also looking for season ticket holders that would like to write stories for their team. At this time, this is a non paying adventure. But could lead to bright things in the future.

As always, sportstailgaters.com welcomes all feedback from any of our pages. We want to be the best, and that means YOU, our followers should have some feedback on what we do.

Thanks and happy tailgating,
The SportsTailgaters team

Lets get the party started

And the countdown has begun for our favorite football teams to start up their camps. My favorite, the Bengals, will also be on Hard Knocks this year. I dont know if this is a good thing or not, but it will bring an outsiders point of view into camp. This is something that most of us fans will never be able to see.

College football will be in full swing here soon. My weekends will soon be booked up watching whatever games are televised on Saturdays and watching the Bengals on Sundays.

Now is the time to start thinking about those tailgates and backyard bbq's. This is just about as good as the game itself. In my opinion, getting together with your friends and family and enjoying food, beverages, and games. The quality time spent here can create memories that last a lifetime and those are the moments that are cherished. I only hope my children enjoy the fact that they get to do these things and have such a great family so maybe they can pass this along to their children when its their time to lead the future of America.

Bring on football as this is the best season of the year.

What in the NFL are you doing Favre!!!!

Brett Favre has come to the cross roads of his NFL career. In this bloggers opinion he should convert his energy into teaching the game. I know he has the capability of still being successful, but what price do you pay for trying to go on in this sport. Going to Minnesota would cause more harm to the team in the long run, than to be helpful. There are many team in the NFL that could use him right now to show there young talent on how to play the game even Minnesota. It would be ashame to keep you off the field but even worse, would have you play on the field.

Beckham is simply Beckham

Soccer is the only sport in the world that will allow a player to play for multiple teams. A club might loan a player to a team, allow a player to play for their country and still have the legal rights to that player. So to Boo Beckham for what soccer has allowed him to do is a crying shame. The man has a lot of talent, especially on set plays, that every team in the world would want him on their team.

The British Open

Well now that the British Open is complete, here are my thoughts on the Open.
I dont watch much golf on TV, but for the obvious reason the last day of the Open caught my attention. All of us look for the feel good stories in the world and jump on them when they are happening. And this is no different. Watching an almost 60 yr old Tom Watson compete with guys half his age was just amazing. And in no other major sport could this occur. Putting yourself in a position to win on the last hole should be considered a great accomplishment in itself. Even though Tom Watson did not win, it shows us all that we can live, be strong, do anything well at ANY age.
This event should be applied to all of our lives. Most of us are not professional athletes, but the underlying story can lead the way for many great things in the future.
For us parents, we can use this as an example to show our children that you can do anything at any time if you put the work and effort into whatever task they are doing.
For us, the parents, we can take this to our profession as well as our personal life to do great things and lead by example for all to follow.
For our seniors, who have lead us to where we are in life, it shows them they too can still do great things and leave a lasting impression on anyone.

Thank you Tom Watson! As much as it would have been nice for you to win, and I was pulling for you, the valuable lesson brought to us over the weekend can be an inspiration to us all.
